SUMMER???

Morris : I have been sunbathing. Quite chilled, just lying out enjoying the air, sniffing the smells and dozing. The garden furniture is all out and things are very comfy. Pam has bought us a new furry for bedtime and outside. Very smart. Pictures maybe later.

Mabel: I have been getting really fed up. I am not allowed to do much running about. I have to look after my muscles, which I keep pulling when I run around like a maniac. I'm usually on the lead. Morris is getting very bossy because he knows i can't get at him to put him in his place. Did get off for a wee run tonight but Pam's also bought us vitamins to protect our joints. Meant to be chewable. Spat them out till ham wrap appeared.

ANOTHER WEEK?

Morris: Well, we were back with Katie on Thursday. I am in perfect working order, which is more than can be said for my sister. Doing a bit of the old Diva thing. Sore paw. This means we aren't running about up the hill. It's her own fault because she runs with such abandon. She really should be more careful. I know it's a while now since I did my hip but I'm still wary of it. Hydro bores her but boy does she love Katie's massages. She gets very glum when she has to do the walking in water bit. Just curls up when she's done. Pam was with us this time so we had downies and towels galore. Mabel used most of them.

Mabel: I can't help it if I pull a muscle in my leg. I am just such an athlete. And yes, I am not fond of water but Katie's massages just make me want to fall asleep. Which I do. Which I did. All curled up and cosy. Morris is forgetting we have been sociable this week. We've been out for coffee and behaved really well. We've also been chatting to the sheep and lambs. We are not allowed near them but they keep running up to us and baaaaing, particularly if we are wearing our yelloe coats. I don't know, maybe they think we are really fashionable and are just verbally applauding us. We aren't allowed to even look at them. Pam and Ewen are very strict and careful around sheep, particularly at lambing time. Some people get us dogs a bad name by being stupid around farm animals. On the other hand we have two very fat bullying pigeons which are chasing all the wee sparrows away. Not happy. But still not allowed to chase them.!!

BUSY.

Mabel: We have been very busy this past week. The weather has been changeable but Pam and Ewen have spent a bit of time tidying up the garden. I have spent some time sunbathing but I get too hot. I've also tried out the garden furniture again. Personally, I prefer their bed. The best bit is the walks. Long walks on the lead and even longer walks off. We've chased birds and rabbits and it has been magical. Only thing is we've been getting quite tired from all the exercise. We've been travelling about 5 miles per day, often at full speed. Need a duvet day!!!

Morris : Having a great time. I do get tired keeping an eye on my wee sister though. I mean, she does find fab things to chase but I do like to make sure where she is. I've also been practising my social skills. When Pam and Ewen have people in I'm trying to join in and keep the conversation on relevant topics....like food and walks and cuddles and scritches.

WEATHER ????

Morris: So this past week has been great. Pam is not at work for a while so we've been going up the hills "en famille" in the mornings. This morning, after glorious weather we got snow?? I do not know what is happening. One minute I'm sunbathing the next we are eating snow??????

Mabel: I've hurt my paw. Had to do a lot of limping and Ewen won't let me off the lead. Morris keeps running ahead and looking back and zooming past, just to upset me. I know I did this to him when he had a sore leg last week or so but..... I am staying cool because I will get better and then he will pay.

SPOKE TOO SOON!

Morris : So here I was, rattling on about being an athlete and then I go and strain my wrist. Limping pathetically and not allowed off the lead for a week. Had to get drugs and ice packed. I know my drugs are just anti inflammatories but they knock me for six. Slept like a log for two nights. Ice packs really helped. Pam has bought me a support strap So I can now jog a bit. Gave it a good chewing this morning!!

Mabel : He is SO accident prone. I charge around too. Mind you I am covered in scrape scars. No idea when they happen. Just come home and then they find more when I'm getting rubbed. Been told I need my nails clipped again. I like long nails but I have a feeling they'll be getting clipped??

BEACH LIFE!

Morris : I am an athlete. My hip is amazing. I am strong. I have been back to see Katie. The hydro tank is repaired, thankfully, and we had our session with our wonderful Katie at Greenside again. It really is a boost when you get complimented. Then, Pam is on holiday so we are getting out on big walks, even though the weather is totally rubbish, and just to top it all off we were at the beach on Sunday. Joys.

Mabel: I really was chuffed about our visit to Katie on Thursday. I did a total head over paws roll Tuesday. Was a bit scary actually. I could feel I'd jerked my back and Katie picked it up right away. Had a glorious massage to help. It was incredible. Felt I could let loose again when running. We athletes really need a good physio who knows what they're doing. And then, to get to run on the beach. To play beach volleyball. Total bliss. No rabbit holes. Just brilliant.

MAKING UP AND HYDRO DOWN!!!!

Morris : I have forgiven my sister. I have healed beautifully. Upset though and, for a change, Mabel had nothing to do with it. Our hydrotherapy was cancelled. Thought I was going to miss out on my massage and seeing Katie. Fortunately we're booked in for this week instead and, hopefully, the tank will be repaired. Had to make do with some paddling. Not the same!!

Mabel : I have been forgiven. Very happy. I've even been allowed to share Morris's bed. Phew. Was a tad worried for a wee while there.
